what the duck?
Here in International Geographics, we strive to enlighten, engage and evolve the student’s minds. We aim to perfect the tomorrow of our world. But for that fruitful future to unfold, we must educate international students of Seoul International School, about the ducks and geese.
On my exciting adventure to the land of education, I, James Park met a promising young fellow by the name of Minsung Kim. My young accomplice, along with our humpty-dumpty-like cameraman, John Yoon, filmed the ducks about their diet and their choice of housing. The answers, were absolutely astounding. For an establishment that is over 40 years-old, this school provided the precious ducks and geese with adequate housing and diet. Other neighboring public schools feed their school pets leftover cafeteria food, and we expected the same monstrosity to be happening here in SIS. However, to our amazement and joy, this was not the case. The ducks informed us that they were fed with exact amounts of feedstuff. The ducks also told us that if, for whatever reason, they still felt craving for more, they were provided with grass to munch on until their next meal. The housing provided to the ducks/geese were more than adequate for its purposes. Each “encampment” of duck-geese “villages” had its own hut where its inhabitants could take a rest away from the sun and rain. Each hut had straw roofs which helps prevent thermal insulation. This feature keeps each duck warm and cozy in the harshest of weathers. I must say, my expectations for proper pet care was fairly low, but now with this newfound knowledge, I can conclude, with a light heart, that these ducks are in proper care and, to my relief, I would not have to contact the animal rights department. I request any pet owners to look upon this article and see Seoul International School as an example of how pets should be treated. Many unfortunate pets are living in inhumane environments, suffering as we speak. We, the humans, must work together as a “superior” species to aid the less evolved species on Earth. |
