MS Boys Basketball
Every spring season, middle school boys are psyched to start after school basketball with their friends. It is a great opportunity to help students interact and develop good sportsmanship.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, these boys meet after school in the gym to practice hard with their coaches to develop their skills. “I just hope that they develop and learn how to do things on their own.” said Mr. Munro (Middle School Activities Coordinator/P.E./Health). Mr. Munro has been the coach and activities director in middle school for the last few years and has done an outstanding job with his students. He teaches them with all his might and makes sure that they understand everything and develop greatly. “I just wish students get better as players and get better as teammates. We’re gonna win games because we have good athletes and kids love to play the game.” Mr. Brodhead (8th Grade Language Arts) stated. “I joined Middle School basketball mainly for entertainment because I like playing basketball. I am planning to try out for HS varsity next year” said Ian Lee (8). “I wanted to improve my skills in basketball because I think I should improve in basketball because it is a very popular sport at SIS and I am planning to join again next year so I want to prepare.” stated Daniel Lee (7). Both students and coaches have no problem saying that middle school boy basketball is very entertaining and helpful for them. Players learn the most basic skills in basketball over and over again. Dribbling with partners, passing, shooting, doing layups, and so many more. Even though these are skills that each and every player practices numerous times, they still practice restlessly to polish their skills. Practice makes perfect. For years, coaches and students have trained together to develop their skills. Middle School Boys Basketball is completely optional but a very fun experience. It can prepare students for the future when they try out for high school varsity basketball. |
