Art meant expanding one’s creativity. Art meant going beyond any existent boundaries. Art meant freedom and happiness for Stephanie Koo (8). From a young age, Stephanie Koo had a growing interest in art but she was not interested in following specific instructions and rules. As an artist, she valued creativity and freedom instead.
A few years back, Stephanie attended an art “academy” to refine her skills in art. However, she could not finish the course at the academy due to her desire to create unique art.
“I just didn’t like how they were encouraging me to draw specific things instead of provoking thought and creativity,” Stephanie said.
Though her experience at the academy did not turn out as expected, Stephanie has gathered artistic knowledge through other means. According to Lucy Jung (8), Stephanie has learnt to draw with creativity, detail and neatness.
“I think Stephanie is a good artist,” Lucy said. “Her paintings are really detailed and neat, and I think she's an amazing artist who has a bright future of becoming a designer when she grows up."
In the future, Stephanie hopes to continue her artistic studies and pursue art as a college major.
“I am leaning towards the direction of maybe even majoring in some sort of art field,” Stephanie said. “I hope that others will find their own passion as I have.”
