UNICEF, PETA, MUN are a few of the most well known clubs in SIS, in which many students aim for when they’re in high school. However, there are many undiscovered clubs in which many students don’t notice, which are the following, Performing Arts, Green, and the Kaleidoscope club.
Performing Arts The Performing Arts club is popular among students who enjoy acting, being on stage, and embrace being different. The club consists of dance, drama, and stage crew. This club allows students to think outside the box, be creative, have a chance to be on stage, communicate with others and build teamwork and friendship. What the drama and performing arts teacher, Mr. Simon Williams expects from a student is confidence, creativity, teamwork, and willingness. Green Club The Green club is known for their many activities that involve helping the environment and raising money for charities. Their most recent project is building a huge tree out of recycled water bottles and creating a video for teachers to show to their classes. The Green club had a project for the Earth day event, where members of the high school community were asked to sign a pledge to live an environmentally conscious life for the day. Students who have the will to help the environment and help those in need, often join this club to help raise money to save the environment. What the Green club expects from students is their devotion, love towards nature, and a thoughtful mind. Kaleidoscope The Kaleidoscope, a club for aspiring writers, is one of the school magazine clubs that publish once every semester. The main purpose is allowing students to creatively and freely write. The club is separated into different sections; science, rhyme, music review, literature, and topics that allow students to aim toward what they enjoy writing about. Two teachers hosting the club, Mr. Coleman and Mrs. Poulsen, help writers develop their writing skills in creativity, style, and voice. What Mr. Coleman and Ms. Poulsen look for in a student is their devotion in the club, creativity, and someone with basic writing skills. Clubs are created for students to choose for what suits their tastes and hobbies. Performing Arts, Green, and Kaleidoscope are a few of the most intriguing clubs that students can join in their high school year. Numerous clubs suit the tastes of SIS’s many different students, meaning that there will be a club for everyone. |
