FREad - the pathetic donations
Freedom to Read or FREAD is a non-school sponsored club that helps children all around the world to give them education with the one joy of childhood. Books. However, not everyone feels that this is a good opportunity to help children around the world. While the 6th and 7th grade were enthusiastic about their chance to help, the 8th grade had something else in mind.
They were not so enthusiastic about their chance and decided to let it pass. Each grade had a chart to see each class and how many books each class donated. I am displeased to say that the 6th and 7th grade class went passed the chart while the 8th grade class is struggling to make it past the ⅓ point. When asked what FREAD James Park (8) replied, “I don’t think anyone cares about FREAD in 8th grade.” This shows what the eighth grade feels about their opportunity to make change to help people find education which lies in books. However, when the 7th grade were asked about how they felt about FREAD Jaden Ha (7) said with a enthusiastic voice that FREAD was a great opportunity to help people and this was even more proven by the response of Ryan Hyun (7) “I think everyone enjoys being part of FREAD” and this shows how the 7th grade were more enthusiastic about their chance to make a difference in some unfortunate children lives then the 7th grade. This difference in response to the question shows how different the result will be from enthusiastic 7th graders try harder then the unenthusiastic 8th graders. The reply from James Park about FREAD shows how little the eighth grade cared about having a chance to jump into the equation and help people that need education with books. But, the 7th graders’ response shows how much they cared about helping the children that need education with books. Now, are you willing to help the children in need by donating the books or are you going to stand by and miss your chance. |
