Like other teachers in SIS, Ms. Hogshead has decided to leave our high school community. Ms. Hogshead is possibly one of the busiest and most engaged teachers in high school. It is a rather amazing feat that she managed to hold up the Yearbook and HS English classes, along with the Community Service Club, Girls Volleyball, and the HSSC, as they all require the utmost devotion. Every project from the clubs she supervises demand her constant attention. “Every weekend - on the weekend as well - I’m doing something for CSC or just HSSC” she admits.

When asked if she had anything to say to the acquaintances she made in SIS, she responds that her time in SIS has been one of her better teaching experiences, and that it has been hard to decide whether to leave or not. Ms. Hogshead dedicates so much time and effort to every one of her classes; her students state that she does, in fact, involve herself in every project.
“I feel that the students who succeed the most are doing HSSC, CSC, and Yearbook because they have a passion for those aspects. They’re not looking at it for a letter of reference, or for their résumé, but actually because those are elements that they truly have passion for.” she says thoughtfully. It’s obvious how much she will miss the relationships she has made throughout the the four years she has been teaching, and vice versa. “I just love my students, but also the people that I work with; the amazing colleagues that I’ve met.” she then laughs, and says, “I know that I’m going to cry on the last day,” |
