Farewell Mr. Iida!
Mr. Iida is a 3rd grade teacher in Seoul International School who has a very close relationship with his students. Mr. Iida described what his students mean to him and he said, “They are the reason why I wake up every morning. They are part of my extended family as I spend more time with them over the course of the year.” His students described Mr. Iida as an exciting and funny teacher. Mr. Iida approaches his students in a very friendly way, and plans a lot of activities for students to learn from. The students will miss Mr. Iida very much, and he will move to Hong Kong and will be teaching 3rd graders at Chinese International School.
The students say that he has an activity called “Sparkle”, and this activity enhances the student’s spelling skills in a fun way. Another activity is called “Genius Time” which divides the students into groups and allows students to make something themselves. At the end of 3rd grade, they share what they made during the year. Mr. Iida allows his students to be inventive and imaginative with their creations. Mr Iida’s goals for his students staying at Seoul International School are for his students to be able to solve conflicts, and become caring members of the SIS community so that they can make the community a closer knit group. Mr. Iida focuses on teaching all subjects, and is known as the “class clown”. The students described his personality as being patient, and “like a friend”. “I would like my students to remember me as a teacher who cared about their well being and always wanted them to feel successful.” Mr Iida said. He is the favorite teacher of many students because of his caring and humorous attitude. Students also love his “just because it’s Friday stickers” in which they collect every week. These little appreciations that Mr. Iida gives to his students is another reason his students think of him as a teacher who is like a friend. We will miss Mr. Iida’s appreciations and his affable personality. Good luck and have a great time in Hong Kong! |
