Out of the many teachers leaving SIS this year, Mr. Anderson, a high school science teacher who first came to our school in 2011, will leave behind a large impact. He currently teaches life science classes in high school, some of which are Environmental Science and Biology. He has been part of the SIS community for about four years now, and he will definitely be missed by high school students and teachers alike.

Mr. Anderson has developed SIS into a great place for learning science in high school. The high school science department of SIS has greatly improved during the years of his stay due to his hard work and effort to help students, and teachers.
Mr. Anderson often says to his students, “It’s not what you now know, but what you can know through hard work.” Though he is an experienced teacher and fully capable of teaching high school students with the knowledge he currently possesses, he also works hard to expand his knowledge in science as well. Not only does Mr. Anderson spend time teaching students at SIS, he is also working on his own doctorate, showing dedication and interest in the topics he teach. |
“My wife and I are going to take the year off and use the year to work on our education a bit. My wife is finishing her masters. About myself, right now I’m working on my Ph.D in Biology Education so I am going to spend some time on that. I also want to actually teach teachers and I think it will be a good experience to know how that works, and get a new different perspective when I’m teaching teachers well.” This is the main reason why Mr. Anderson is leaving our school.
Though inevitably, there are many ups and downs while working in any place, Mr. Anderson has had a fairly enjoyable experience here at SIS. “It’s been really fun being here, and I’ve really made a lot of lifelong friends with a lot of my fellow faculty members and teachers.” says Mr. Anderson. |
Mr. Anderson and his wife will be moving back to California. After having taken care of a multitude of science classes over the years, we know that he will be a great loss from our school community. Please wish him the best of luck with his studies in the States.
