EXO'S COMEBACK
EXO has made a huge impact on Korean pop culture, usually being number one on music charts with their songs. People have been waiting months for EXO to come back on stage, performing their new album. EXO has been releasing mysterious teasers that leave their fans without a clue and finally, they have made their debut on stage.
In 2011, EXO started out like any other group; small and unknown. After a few songs including “What is Love” and “History” were released, their reputation skyrocketed. By 2012, they had approximately 8,000 fans, and this is still increasing day by day. On March 30th, 2015, they released their extraordinary “Call Me Baby” music video making many of their fans overjoyed. Every time fans hear this song, they can’t stop their body from dancing along. “I think it’s very good and they are very talented” said Jamie Song (8). A Korean student standing outside the SM town, waiting for EXO to possibly come out, stated, “I really enjoy listening to their music”. However, last year, there were two life-changing obstacles the group faced as two members, Luhan and Kris, left. Kris had filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment about not being treated fairly and not receiving the basic human rights. He left the group and not long after, Luhan filed another lawsuit against SM Entertainment to nullify his contract because of his health issues and being treated differently than the other Korean members. He left and now there are only ten members. Even so, the group is still continuing on and are famous more than they ever were. The recent comeback and album release was announced as Exodus. There were five concerts held at Seoul Olympic Park Stadium and nearly 1.2 million fans attempted to buy the tickets. The most famous song in this album is called “Call Me Baby”, viewed by more than 4,000,000 people in the Korean version and over 2,000,000 people in the Mandarin version in less than 24 hours. Out of many boy groups, EXO is one that amazes everybody and it is hoped that they will continue incredible performances. |
