Through six years of teaching kindergarten students at Seoul International School, Ms. Levine is known for her warm and generous personality. To her students and fellow colleagues, she is a compassionate individual who always provides inspiration. However, she is unfortunately leaving this year. This year is her 3rd year teaching senior kindergartners after teaching junior kindergartners for 3 years.

Coming to Asia to teach young students after staying in South Carolina and New York City was one of her many wishes. She states that she was very excited to come to Korea and explore Asia as she takes pleasure in moving to places she has never seen. “I have thoroughly enjoyed living in a different culture in Korea and SIS. It has been very exciting, and I have learned so much.” |
When describing some of her favorite times at Seoul International School, she says it is when she visits, talks and plays with the kids in their centers. Ms. Levine says that her most favorite aspect of Seoul International School is the kids, who are the joy of her life. Enjoying teaching the youngest generation at Seoul International School, she notes that “Kindergartners are so spontaneous and so candid when they talk, and they just say the cutest things and do the cutest things.” While appreciating their honesty and spontaneity, something really special that she is able to see in her students at Seoul International School are that they have the desire to learn. A lesson she learned from her students was that self-esteem is very important at an early age.

Her students’ sorrow at her farewell from SIS are clearly delivered from their hearts through their concise, but sincere words. All of the kids said that they are sad when they found out that she was leaving. “I love you” and “I miss you” are their parting messages to their beloved teacher. They say that learning math and reading from her was enjoyable as she makes it interesting for them.
Ms. Levine mentioned that she will be moving to Asheville, North Carolina to retire and spend more time with her sister and her family. Her final message to everyone at SIS was, “Enjoy, every year you have here, because it’s amazing how fast time goes by.” |
